Hematooncology is a branch of medicine that diagnoses and treats blood cancers and other blood-related disorders. These include blood cancers like Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma, various types of anaemia, and other rare diseases.

A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood cancers, sometimes referred to as hematological cancers. These malignancies start in blood-forming tissues such bone marrow, lymph nodes, and blood cells.
