The founder of OMEGA Hospital, Dr. Mohana Vamsy, was born on 21st September,1964 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. A brilliant student, Dr. Vamsy went on to finish his M.B.B.S from one of the most reputed medical institutes in India - theJawaharlal Nehru Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry. He continued with his Masters with specialization in General Surgery in JIPMER. With his immense knowledge and his passion to find cure for pain, Dr. Vamsy continued his education with a M.Ch. (Surg. Oncology) at Cancer Institute, Adyar, Chennai. He was also awarded the Diplomate of National Board (Surgery) from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and F.R.C.S. (Surgery) from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, U.K. Dr. Vamsy also has a Diploma in Lap Surgery from the University of Strasbourg, France.

Dr. Vamsy started his medical career as the Senior Residency in Surgery from May 1990 to February 1991 at JIPMER, Pondicherry. From March 1991 to March 1993, he was the Registrar in Surgical Oncology, at Cancer Institute, Adyar. From April 1993 to August 1994, Dr. Vamsy was the Reader in Surgical Oncology at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. From August 1994 to August 1999, he was the Asst. Professor of Surgical Oncology in Govt. MNJ Institute of Oncology, Hyderabad. From August 1999 to June 2002, he was the Head - Dept. of Surgical Oncology, Apollo hospitals, Hyderabad. From August 2002 to June 2010, Dr. Vamsy was the Director and Chief Surgical Oncologist, The Indo-American Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Hyderabad. With the birth of OMEGA Hospital, Dr. Vamsy was unanimously elected as the Chief Surgical Oncologist, OMEGA Hospital from July 2010 to till date.
