Brachy Therapy or Internal radiotherapy:

Places radioactive material into a tumour or surrounding tissue. Also called Brachytherapy- brachy is the Greek word for a short distance. This allows high doses of radiotherapy to be delivered locally while sparing surrounding healthy tissues.

Permanent Brachytherapy:

Radioactive seeds or sources are permanently implanted and gradually release radiation over time.

Temporary Brachytherapy:

Radioactive sources are temporarily placed inside the body for a specific duration and removed.

Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT):

IORT produces a single high dose of radiotherapy directly to the tumour site during surgery. It is often used in breast cancer treatment.
