ORTHOPAEDIC ONCOLOGY

Oncology that is associated with treating bones cancer is known as Orthopedic Oncology. Doctors and surgeons who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of bone related cancers are called Orthopedic oncologists.

These cancers are mostly metastatic which means that the cancer has spread from another part of the body. The most common type of cancer that begins in the bones is referred to as Sarcoma. Prostrate and breast cancer are the main metastatic sources for bone cancers. The success rate of treatment majorly depends on early diagnosis. If the patient doesn’t get the required medical attention in time, it may lead to pathologic fracture. We have trained Orthopaedic Oncologists who specialize in reconstruction of damage caused to the bone or joint.
